We’re proud to share that One Ball’s Positive Kick Program is a finalist in the 2026 Victorian Early Years Awards, in the Promoting Children’s Health and Wellbeing category.
Run by the Victorian Department of Education, the awards celebrate the people and programs making a real difference for Victoria’s children and families.
Positive Kick uses football and positive psychology to help children and young people build confidence, healthy habits and resilience. Each year around 300 young people take part across community hubs in Port Melbourne, Cranbourne and Maribyrnong, plus five school settings. Many of them come from culturally diverse and low-income communities.
The results speak for themselves. In our latest parent survey, 96% of families reported physical health benefits for their child, and 100% saw improvements in confidence, teamwork or leadership.
“Football gave me a future. One Ball is my way of giving that back,” said Founder and CEO Kamal Ibrahim. “Being recognised as a finalist is a credit to our coaches, families, school partners and every young person who turns up to Positive Kick.”
Thank you to our partners, funders and community for helping make this possible.
